Yoga Classes in Ely

Yoga can easily become another form of striving.

Another environment where we compare ourselves, push the body, chase flexibility, or attempt to become a more perfected version of ourselves. For many people, even wellness can begin to feel performative and disconnected from genuine presence.

My approach to yoga is rooted in something far simpler.

A return to direct experience.

The classes I teach in Ely are not solely about physical postures. They are spaces to slow down, breathe, reconnect with the body, and step out of the constant movement of mental noise. The practice becomes less about achievement and more about relationship. Relationship to breath, sensation, awareness, stillness, emotion, and life itself.

Many people arrive carrying stress, overthinking, anxiety, emotional tension, exhaustion, or the feeling that they have become disconnected from themselves. Modern life pulls attention outward constantly. Yoga offers an opportunity to return inward, not in a self-absorbed way, but in a deeply grounding and human way.

My own relationship with yoga emerged alongside years of meditation, inquiry, philosophy, and personal exploration into suffering and awareness. Over time, I became increasingly drawn to the deeper roots of yoga beyond fitness alone. The aspects connected to presence, nervous system regulation, meditation, breath, philosophy, and direct experience.

This now forms the foundation of my teaching.

Classes combine elements of:

  • Traditional yoga asana

  • Breath awareness

  • Meditation

  • Nervous system grounding

  • Mindfulness and inquiry

  • Raja Yoga philosophy

  • Deep relaxation and stillness

Some classes are dynamic and strong. Others are slower and more reflective. But underneath all of it is the same invitation: to become more intimate with the reality of this moment.

Not the story of your life.
Not the self-image you carry.
Not who you think you should be.

Just this breath.
This body.
This experience.
Here.

I am less interested in creating perfect yoga poses and more interested in helping people reconnect with themselves honestly. The practice is not about transcending humanity. It is about learning how to fully inhabit it.

Over the years, I have found that yoga becomes incredibly powerful when it moves beyond performance and returns to awareness itself. The mat becomes less of a stage and more of a place of listening.

Listening to tension.
Listening to resistance.
Listening to emotion.
Listening to silence.
Listening to life.

For many people, this creates profound shifts not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. There can be more space, more grounding, more clarity, and a different relationship to stress and thought patterns.

Classes are open to all levels, whether you are completely new to yoga or have practiced for years. There is no requirement to be flexible, spiritual, experienced, or knowledgeable. Only a willingness to arrive as you are.

Weekly classes with Kane Rogerson take place at The Yoga Studio in Little Downham near Ely, a peaceful community-focused studio offering yoga, meditation, satsang, and traditional yogic practices.

Kane also hosts inquiry, meditation, and community-based sessions through The Dharma Lounge in Ely.

Whether people come for movement, healing, stillness, meditation, inquiry, or simply to breathe again, the intention remains the same:
