Weekly Classes in Ely
SUNDAY YOGA
Yoga Studio Ely
New Term 6th September - 11th October
Sunday morning yoga is a 90-minute practice
held at Yoga Studio Ely, a beautiful ashram-style space where yoga and spiritual practice have been part of the land for more than 35 years.
Each Sunday is a little different.
We begin by arriving into contemplation, often accompanied by live guitar, before moving into traditional practices, philosophy and an exploration of whatever feels alive in the room that morning.
From there, the practice unfolds through asana, pranayama and breathwork, meditation, savasana and deep relaxation.
The class draws from the wider tradition of yoga rather than focusing only on the physical practice.
There is no expectation to perform, achieve or already know what you're doing. The emphasis is on direct experience, kindness and discovering what the practice means for you.
Afterwards, you're welcome to stay for tea and conversation in the community lounge. When the weather allows, parts of the practice may also take place outside on the puja deck,
surrounded by the gardens and lakes.
If you're coming for the first time, you are very welcome. The community is warm, open and non-judgmental, whether you've practised for years or are taking your first steps into yoga.
My hope is simple: that you leave feeling more like yourself, more connected and more present.

THURSDAY MEDITATION
Yoga Studio Ely
New Term 10th September - 15th October
This is an introspective class exploring meditation, inquiry and the contemplative traditions as something to be lived rather than simply understood.
We meditate together and explore teachings drawn from non-duality, yoga, Buddhism and other contemplative traditions, continually returning to direct experience. Rather than hearing a philosophy and leaving it as an idea, we investigate it together:
What does this actually mean?
Can we recognise it in our own experience?
What happens when it meets our relationships, emotions, difficulties and ordinary life?
The group itself becomes part of the inquiry.
Questions, observations and lived experience can open a teaching in ways that solitary study often cannot, allowing us to explore these philosophies together, rather than simply being told what they mean.
Some evenings may contain longer periods of meditation; others naturally open into more inquiry and conversation. The direction develops from the teaching, the practice and what is genuinely present within the group.
No particular belief or previous
meditation experience is required.
The invitation is simple: to practice, question, explore and discover what these teachings reveal when we actually live with them.
Bringing inquiry beyond meditation
and into everyday life.
