A longer Sunday gives us room to practise without rushing, explore an idea together and spend some proper time with the people we usually meet on the mat.

We’ll begin with yoga, breath and meditation, followed by philosophy, inquiry and conversation.

After food and tea, the day becomes lighter. We’ll spend time in the studio and gardens, share questions, explore a little trust together and leave plenty of room to talk, laugh and simply enjoy being around one another.

We finish together around the fire, before closing the day in silence.

No experience is needed. Just come as you are, spend time in community, and get to know the people you’re sharing the day with.

A little more time together.

Practicle Details

A day with enough room to unfold.

This isn’t intended to feel like five hours of continuous teaching, or simply a longer version of a normal yoga class.

The morning gives us more time than we usually have together. We’ll begin with a complete practice of asana, breath and meditation, without needing to rush from one thing into the next. From there we’ll spend time with philosophy and inquiry. I’ll bring a theme to explore, but the conversation doesn’t need to follow a rigid script. There will be room for questions, different perspectives and whatever becomes genuinely interesting in the room.

After the morning practice, we stop.

There will be food, tea and time to rest before the atmosphere of the day changes. The second half is much more about being together. We’ll spend time in the studio and gardens, share some questions that give us a chance to know one another beyond the usual conversations around class, and take part in a simple paired trust walk.

None of that needs to become overly serious. The point isn’t to manufacture intimacy or turn the afternoon into another workshop. There should be room to laugh, talk, eat, sit around, wander outside and enjoy being with people.

Towards the end of the day we’ll gather around the fire. There will be an opportunity to reflect on something from the day and, if it feels appropriate, offer something to the fire before we finish together in silence.

You don’t need to have an established yoga or meditation practice, and you certainly don’t need to be the deepest or most philosophical person in the room. Come because you’d like a good practice, an interesting day, some food and the opportunity to spend meaningful time in community.
